Baim Wong went viral last year for a video of him driving away an elderly man named Kakek Suhud. Initially, Baim was followed by Kakek Suhud who was offering his merchandise persistently, but Baim Wong found it bothersome and decided to drive him away. The video went viral and received a lot of criticism, prompting Baim Wong to personally apologize to Kakek Suhud.

He also came under scrutiny after pulling a prank that threatened a parking attendant and ended up in jail. At that time, Baim visited Surabaya and pranked a parking attendant who didn't know who he was. Baim claimed to be the son of the Governor of East Java, even collaborating with the local police. He managed to make the parking attendant scared.

Baim Wong also visited the owner of a warteg (food stall) in Simprug, South Jakarta, which went viral for still standing strong amidst a fire disaster. Baim bought eight birds, including cerukcuk, parkit, and lovebird, along with their cages for Rp 500,000 to release them again. However, Baim received backlash from netizens for offering too low a price to buy all the birds he released.

However, it was later revealed that the money was not intended for Bonge, but for the Citayam Fashion Week event. The money was also not actually given to Bonge as shown in their YouTube content.

Baim Wong once again faced criticism from netizens for visiting a viral elementary school student named Tamara who had lice in her hair. In the content, Baim bought the viral girl a folding bike and some money for her mother who works as a scavenger. He uploaded photos of the elementary school student and her family on Instagram, and received a lot of backlash from netizens for not obscuring Tamara's face. Baim was even compared to Ibu Vera (the viral teacher) who did not show the student's face.

They are potentially facing criminal charges for alleged violations of Article 220 of the Criminal Code regarding false reports.
