The first tip from Rian D'Masiv is about the perfect time. He suggests that the song creation process should be done in the morning.

"Usually, I create songs in the morning. Yes, because in the morning we wake up. Still fresh. Many inspirations come in the morning," he said.

There is even a song that Rian actually got from a dream. As soon as he woke up, he immediately took his guitar and repeated what he got in his dream that night. Wow!

"I actually got the song Rindu Setengah Mati in a dream. So, the musical notation of the song was recorded in the dream. When I woke up, I immediately took the guitar and got the musical notation for the chorus of the song," Rian said with a smile.

2. Have Many References

Second tip, Rian admitted that it would be better if you who want to create a song have many references to songs by various great musicians in the past.

"I am very grateful that since I was little, my dad, who is a musician, has given me a lot of music references, such as Chichago, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, and Electric Light Orchestra. As for Indonesian musicians, one of them is Chrisye," he said.

Rian admitted that when he was in junior high school, he once made a song that he considered 'lame'. But at that time, he still believed in himself and his work. He emphasizes the attitude of not being afraid to create, whether it's good or bad.

"The song must be honest. Whatever comes out of us, we must be confident. Even if people say it's bad, the important thing is that it's our song. Never be afraid to create bad lyrics and notes," explained Rian, talking about self-confidence and firmness of heart.

Rian gives tips if in the future it turns out that the song we create has similarities with a song that already exists.

"It's called notes, there must be similarities with other songs. My tip is, if after making a song there are similarities, just tweak it a little bit," said Rian, giving an example of the song Widuri which has similarities with the song Sudahi Perih Ini.

For some people, working under pressure can actually produce maximum results and be more productive. The same is felt by Rian.

"When there's a deadline, I can actually be more productive in making the song. Many people also say that the songs that are created when I was struggling are good. I always position myself in an uncomfortable zone when composing songs," he explained.

8. Don't Be a Burden

Rian gives tips to netizens that there should be no burden when creating a song. It is better to create a song with a joyful feeling, even under pressure as he previously mentioned.

"Don't make a song out of obligation, out of burden. Making a song should be done with joy. Whatever we do out of love and happiness will not become a burden," he concluded.
