Kapanlagi.com - West Jakarta Metro Police revealed a drug abuse case involving actor Epy Kusnandar and Yogi Gamblez. However, during the press conference held on Friday (17/5/2024), the police only presented Yogi Gamblez to the media.
Meanwhile, Epy Kusnandar was absent due to his health condition. West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Commissioner Pol Syahduddi explained the reason for Epy Kusnandar's absence in the case release.
"Based on the doctor's examination, Mr. EK is experiencing depression with high blood pressure," said Syahduddi at West Jakarta Metro Police, Friday (17/5/2024).
"The investigator coordinated with RSKO to provide treatment and requested an assessment for further investigation against EK," added Syahduddi.
Syahduddi shows the recommendation from the Director of RSKO regarding Epy's condition, who cannot participate in the drug case release event that involves him. Based on humanitarian reasons, the police chose not to bring Epy.
"We received a letter from the hospital stating that the person's condition is not yet stable. Based on humanitarian aspects, Mr. EK was not present," he explained.
During the arrest, Epy Kusnandar showed a poor health condition. Although he tested positive for marijuana, Epy was not found to have any drug evidence. Health considerations were the main factor in the decision not to bring Epy to the press conference.
"The person has a history of illness, and when arrested, he was in poor health. Mr. EK is being treated at RSKO Jakarta and there is a recommendation from the director of RSKO that it is not possible to have him present at today's release," he said.
According to the information provided, Epy Kusnandar has been undergoing treatment at RSKO Fatmawati for the past two days. Based on the regulations, investigators have the authority to conduct an examination for 3x24 hours, with the option to extend the time if necessary.
"The person has been here for two days. So, based on the regulations, investigators have 3x24 hours, and if it's still not enough, another 3x24 hours can be added. Since two days ago, EK has been brought to the hospital for dependency," he concluded.
