Abuse Child Leading to Potential Impact on His Future, Yuyun Sukawati Hopes for Severe Punishment for Fajar Umbara

Kapanlagi.com - The trial of alleged child abuse involving the defendant Fajar Umbara will soon enter its final stage. The trial with the agenda of reading the verdict is planned to be held by the Tangerang District Court on Monday, September 13, 2021.

Yuyun Sukawati, the mother of the victim, hopes that Fajar Umbara will receive a severe punishment for his actions. She also pleads to the judge to consider the condition of the child after the abuse, which has the potential to affect his future.

"As a mother, I plead to the honorable judge, my child is still underage and aspires to become a pilot. But Fajar broke his pinky finger, the doctor said my child's hand condition is not perfect," said Yuyun Sukawati while crying at the Tangerang District Court on Thursday (9/9/2021). "Therefore, I plead to the Honorable Judge to punish Fajar according to the demand and if possible, even more severe than the prosecutor's demand," Yuyun continued.

As previously reported, Fajar Umbara was demanded by the prosecutor to serve 4 years and 6 months in prison and a fine of Rp. 100 million or 5 months of subsidiary imprisonment. Fajar is the defendant in a case of alleged child abuse based on a report from his wife, Yuyun Sukawati, who was unhappy with her child being beaten and abused by Fajar.

2. Regretting Fajar Umbara's Strategy

Yuyun Sukawati actually wanted to hear Fajar Umbara in his last opportunity given by the Judges, admitting guilt and regretting his actions. But what was heard instead was the arrogance of Fajar.

"I'm confused why he didn't want to introspect himself while being in prison," said Yuyun.

In line with Yuyun, Lissa V, Yuyun's legal representative, also regrets Fajar Umbara's strategy of choosing to escape from legal entanglements by distorting the facts. Whereas, based on the facts presented in court and the available evidence, according to Lissa, Fajar should have realized that he would not escape punishment.

"It's really regrettable that he keeps denying. Even though we have evidence of the assault against HAW," said Lissa while showing the medical examination report and other evidence.
