Titiek Soeharto commemorated the 103rd birthday of the late President Soeharto in Badegan Village, Badegan District, Ponorogo, East Java. In a place called Bukit Soeharto, a religious gathering and recitation of prayers were held with several renowned ulamas. Titiek Soeharto attended the event with her two nieces. This is a portrait of Titiek Soeharto with Eno Sigit (sibling of Ari Sigit, Sigit Harjojudanto's child) and Gendis Siti Hatmanti (child of Bambang Trihatmodjo).
Two renowned ulamas who led the religious gathering and recitation of prayers were Habib Ali Zainal Abidin Assegaf (Habib Bidin) and Gus HM Abdurrahman al Kautsar (Gus Kautsar).
The event was also attended by Ponorogo Regent Sugiri Sancoko and thousands of people from the Reog City.
Titiek mentioned that Bukit Soeharto, located on the border of East Java and Central Java, is expected to become a leading tourist attraction that can improve the economy of business actors.
Before the religious gathering was held, Titiek inaugurated the statue of Soeharto on Bukit Soeharto. The statue was erected as a monument to commemorate the footsteps of the late President Soeharto in Ponorogo.
In that hill, Soeharto once visited and planted several trees in 1987. The trees planted by the President with the longest tenure in Indonesia include sandalwood, banyan, and mahogany trees.
Titiek Soeharto also invites the community to always appreciate the struggles of previous leaders in building the country.
"Let us take the positive side, be an inspiration and motivation to actively participate in national development activities. Pak Harto led Indonesia for 32 years. Many achievements have been made in the fields of food, population, infrastructure development, and so on," said Titiek Soeharto, as quoted by KapanLagi.com via Kilasjatim, Monday (10/06).
