Accused of Blasphemy, Coki Pardede Denies Making the Story of Prophet Ibrahim as a Joke

Regarding this matter, many have also mentioned that Coki has committed blasphemy. However, when met in the Sudirman area, Central Jakarta, on Wednesday (5/20237), Coki Pardede denied the allegations.

He said that besides capturing viewers, profit is certainly one of the goals in creating content. There is no intention to mock and blaspheme as accused.

"Never. Because, again, companies aim for profit, and if there are certain things that we see will hinder our goal of making a profit, we will definitely take them out," said Coki Pardede.

The viral video of Coki Pardede initially started as a guessing game video conducted by Adriano Qalbi together with Tretan Muslim and Coki Pardede. Adriano, as the host, asked Tretan and Coki what the worst prank on earth is?

While thinking about the answer, Coki and Tretan were seen shaking their heads. Since they didn't know the answer, Adriano then said that the worst prank on earth is the story of Prophet Ibrahim. Adriano then blurted out, "Telling him to slaughter his own son, but it didn't happen," he said.

Hearing the joke, Coki laughed hysterically while Tretan bowed down, hiding his laughter. This video then went viral and became the talk of netizens.

2. Denies Committing Religious Blasphemy

Hearing that the video of their riddles went viral and angered netizens, Coki Pardede emphasized that their intention was not to blaspheme any particular religion.

"So actually there is no intention from us or anyone at MLI to go in that direction. But if people want to interpret it differently, go ahead, feel free," he continued.

In addition, because of the content, Coki even considered reporting it to the authorities. However, he didn't want to worry about it and claimed that he wasn't afraid if he were to be reported.

"Actually, when it comes to fear or not, every action has its consequences. If we measure it by fear, we won't do anything. So, just go with it and face whatever happens," he concluded.
