Facing 6 Years in Prison, Coki Pardede Asks Fans to Be Patient

Kapanlagi.com - Comedian Coki Pardede has been named a suspect in drug abuse. He then apologized for his actions.

"Firstly, I want to apologize to my family, especially my father, mother, and also to the management because this directly affects my work," said Coki in a press conference at the Tangerang City Metro Police on Saturday (9/4/2021).

Not only that, Coki also apologized to his fans and asked them to be patient while he undergoes the legal process and tries to overcome his addiction to illegal drugs.

"I also want to apologize to the people who enjoy my work. Please be patient because the release of my works that you can enjoy will be slightly delayed due to more important matters at the moment, which is my recovery from illegal drugs," he said.

"So that when I return to the stage, I will be better, more responsible, and able to entertain friends out there. Two, three, or four times better than I am now," added Coki.

Furthermore, Coki, who was arrested by the Narcotics Division of the Tangerang City Metro Police on Wednesday (1/9), also delivered a message regarding drugs. He urged the public to consider his case as a lesson.

"Let this be a lesson for me and also for friends out there that there is absolutely no benefit in being dependent on illegal substances," he said.

Coki, along with two others who acted as couriers and dealers, was charged under Article 114 Paragraph 1, subsidiary to Article 112 juncto 132 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics, with a maximum prison sentence of 6 years.

2. MLI Makes Efforts for Rehabilitation

On the other hand, the Indonesian Funny Assembly (MLI), as the management overseeing Comedian Coki Pardede, has hired a lawyer to provide legal assistance to Coki.

"We have hired a lawyer to accompany Coki," said Gian Luigi, the General Manager of MLI.

MLI, who believes that Coki Pardede is only a victim of drug abuse, hopes that the man whose real name is Reza Pardede can be rehabilitated.

"Even if he is later named a suspect, we still hope that Coki can receive rehabilitation because with 0.5 grams of evidence, it is enough to take a step towards rehabilitation," said Gian Luigi.

In the effort to obtain rehabilitation for Coki, Gian fully entrusts it to the lawyer.

"We leave everything to the legal authority. Whatever the result, we strive to give the best for Coki," said Gian Luigi.
