Admits to Having Great Trauma, Denira Wiraguna Uses Old Wounds to Deepen Her Role in the New SCTV Soap Opera

Kapanlagi.com - Denira Wiraguna greets her loyal fans again through the latest soap opera titled NOT BECAUSE I DON'T LOVE. In this soap opera, Denira acts alongside two popular male actors, Stefan William and Dosma Hazenbosch.

In the series airing on SCTV, Denira plays the character Mala, a laboratory supervisor with a strong and assertive personality. Interestingly, Mala is portrayed as starting to fall in love with the character Arya, played by Stefan William.

"I play Mala, she has a strong and assertive character, I really like Mala," said Denira Wiraguna in a virtual interview on Thursday (5/6/2025).

1. Portray the Character Mala

Denira explained that the character Mala is not easy to portray. Her background of being abandoned by her father makes Mala have to leave her comfortable life and survive only with her mother.

"Mala has to struggle to survive with her mother. So that shapes Mala, until eventually her character becomes strong," Denira said.

2. Her Character is Close to Personal Life

Interestingly, Denira admitted that her role as Mala is very close to her personal life. She revealed that she has a heavy past trauma, and she actually uses it as ammunition when delving into her character's emotions.

"The gradation of Mala's emotions is a lot; I just have to recall it during takes. The first episode's preparation took quite a long time. When continuing, I just recall the emotions on set," she revealed.

"I try to remember what past trauma I have experienced. The trauma is quite relatable," Denira added.

3. Not Feeling Burdened

Even though playing a character with a heavy emotional burden, Denira does not feel burdened by the presence of Stefan William, who has many fanatic fans. On the contrary, she feels lucky to act alongside him.

"With Stefan, it’s enjoyable because he is very open, so I feel comfortable," said Denira.

4. Totality in Acting

Thanks to good cooperation with her co-star, Denira feels helped to explore various emotional sides of the character Mala. She hopes her presence in the soap opera NOT BECAUSE OF NOT LOVING can bring a new color to the television world.
