Admitting Positive Covid-19, Giring Ganesha Grateful for the Negative Swab Test Results of His Wife and Children

When contacted by the media on Friday (1/1/2021), Giring admitted that he had been undergoing self-quarantine for 12 days since he was first confirmed positive on December 21, 2020. He also shared his experience of being infected.

"The most noticeable thing is the back pain. The first day after the swab test and being confirmed positive, I had severe diarrhea. Thankfully, I didn't experience any difficulty in breathing," said Giring over the phone.

1. Reasons for Self-Isolation

Furthermore, the former Nidji personnel revealed the reason why he chose to undergo self-quarantine at home. Apparently, it is because the symptoms he experienced were still mild, so there was no need for hospitalization and he still wanted to be able to see his wife and children.

"(Self-isolation) first because the symptoms were still standard, not shortness of breath or severe cough, mostly diarrhea, body aches, and dizziness. Second, it was my desire to do self-isolation, so the doctor came to the house. Mentally, I am more motivated at home. Because I am close to my family and can see them every day," said Giring.

2. Wife and Children Test Negative

Fortunately, only Giring Ganesha tested positive for COVID-19. Based on the test results, his wife and children were confirmed negative.

"Alhamdulillah, Cynthia is negative. The children are also negative, no symptoms, only me. So now I am in self-isolation in the upstairs room, my own room because it has a complete bathroom, TV, PS5. The entertainment is complete," he concluded.
