The Netherlands became her destination to try her luck in her career and continue her studies.

Her decision to pursue a career abroad was made by sacrificing her career and business in Indonesia. Although she has been absent from the entertainment industry for 6 years, she has a successful interior design business, but she stated that she is determined to sharpen her career in the international world, one of which is by joining an agency in the land of windmills.

"I am determined to move from Indonesia to the Netherlands and stop all the efforts that I have been involved in for 6 years and leave my family in Indonesia. Here, I will start from scratch, start a new life, and start a career," said Julia Robex when met in Jakarta, Wednesday (21/4).

According to him, countries in Europe, especially the Netherlands, offer greater opportunities for him to develop. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, the social status of transgender individuals is still considered taboo, resulting in limited career and business opportunities, which prevents him from growing.

“Even if I don't rely on gimmicks, fights, or other controversial actions, it seems like my career won't flourish in the entertainment industry in my home country. But I don't want that. I want to be an established artist who reemerges due to career achievements in Europe,” he said.

2. Bad Image

As the first transgender artist after the Bunda Dorce era, he mentioned that the current appearance of transgender individuals in the entertainment industry prioritizes gimmicks and controversial sensations. As a result, the stigma surrounding transgender individuals in Indonesian society becomes negative and affects all aspects of life, including business.

“This bad transgender image affects my interior design and investment business and career. I strongly feel the immense impact of this bad image on my business and even personal life because the bad behavior of some transgender individuals is not actually rooted in being artists or performers,” he explained.

“Since European countries are more open-minded and don't restrict based on social status, I finally made the confident decision to move and start from scratch here,” he concluded.
