Former Muslim, Dena Rachman Once an Atheist and Now Embracing Christianity

Kapanlagi.com - Dena Rachman opens up about her spiritual journey in Daniel Mananta's latest YouTube video. Not many people know that Dena used to be an atheist or didn't believe in God before eventually choosing to become a Christian.

Dena herself admits that she was born into a Muslim family. However, as she went through life, there were many struggles in her heart when it came to talking about God.

"I wasn't a believer before, because of my experiences, my life experiences, my struggles, and also what people say, doctrines, stigmas, I didn't believe," said Dena Rachman as quoted from Daniel Mananta's YouTube video.

1. Questioning the Existence of God

Not only that, in difficult times, Dena even questioned the existence of God. And from there, hatred arose in her heart to the point where she no longer believed in the Creator.

"That's why I used to question myself a lot, question God, question His existence. Like, if You exist and You love Your people, why am I made like this? Why?" she said.

"So I was filled with hatred at that time, I didn't believe in God. I can say I was an atheist. And I strongly believe in science," she continued.

2. Not Welcomed

As a transgender person, at that time Dena felt very unwelcome in any religion. In fact, she has already faced stigma or being seen as bad and sinful.

"In religion, I was really, no, you are not welcomed, you are not accepted, you are wrong, you are sinful, and you will go to hell," she explained.

3. Embracing Christianity

During her spiritual journey, Dena finally found what she desired in the belief she currently follows. And she also feels fortunate because her choice is supported by her family.  

"I'm grateful to have an open-minded family. So they know my journey, they know where I come from, and why I choose my choice no matter what it is (Christian)," she said.
