After Being Freed from Prison and Migrating, Roro Fitria Continues to Perform Kejawen Rituals

Kapanlagi.com - Roro Fitria is known as a celebrity who is close to mystical aura. How could she not be, she often performs various Kejawen rituals, from meditating in a cave, taking a midnight flower bath, to burning incense in front of a painting of Nyai Roro Kidul.

However, since being incarcerated, Roro no longer performs these various rituals. Especially after she decided to cover her aura by wearing a hijab.

As is known, since Thursday (2/4) yesterday, Roro Fitria has been officially released from prison. The 30-year-old woman previously spent 2 years in detention for possession of illegal drugs.

1. The Path of Religious Sharia

Now Roro is free and starting to engage in activities as a public figure. A question arises: Does she still perform Javanese rituals?

"Yes (still performing rituals). Regarding the traditional rituals, Nyai chooses and selects. She distinguishes between what is purely cultural and what, sorry, has deviated from its religious principles. So Nyai is more selective," said Roro when met in the Kapten Tendean area, South Jakarta, on Monday (18/5/2020).

2. Upholding Cultural Values

As a woman who claims to be a descendant of the ancient Mataram Kingdom, she cannot simply abandon these rituals. She continues to carry out these activities as long as they do not contradict her religious beliefs.

"It cannot be denied that a great nation originates from its own cultures. Nyai still upholds the noble values of Indonesian culture, particularly Javanese culture where Nyai was born. However, she must still hold on to the faith, the monotheistic values from Allah," she added.
