Melly Goeslaw Shares the Chronology of Her Decision to Wear Hijab and Embrace Islam

Kapanlagi.com - The figure of Melly Goeslaw was previously known for her eccentric appearance. However, in recent years, she has chosen to cover her head with a hijab. Not only that, the wife of Anto Hoed has also deepened her knowledge of religion, or in other words, she has converted.

Recently, Melly reminisced a little and shared the chronology of her decision to wear hijab. She shared the story when she became one of the guests on the program Hijrah Fest From Home.

"This is a question that I never get tired of answering because it seems like sharing this issue is really important. So, when I went on my first Umrah pilgrimage with Rossa and Rina Gunawan, I actually wanted to wear hijab. It was about 8 years ago. But I was still thinking, what would happen to my job if I wear hijab? I still had many events at clubs and such. That hindered me from wearing hijab," Melly said as quoted by KapanLagi.com from the official Hijrahfest Youtube channel.

1. Feeling All Plans Run Perfectly

After hesitating, Melly finally made up her mind because of several incidents she experienced during umrah. According to her, many of her plans were granted by Allah and finally went perfectly.

"Then when it was Mas Anto's birthday, I really wanted to surprise him, so at midnight he was in front of the Kaaba. We went for umrah again, and there everything I planned was perfectly arranged. So exactly at 12 o'clock, he went in front to see the Kaaba. I felt so perfect, I thought, why does it seem like everything I ask for is actually given by Allah. It's just maybe the timing and the opportunity that some of them are not exactly as I requested," she continued.

2. Confident in Wearing Hijab After Returning from Umrah

At first, the singer of the song Jika was indeed worried about many things if she decided to wear the hijab suddenly. However, after returning from the Holy Land, Melly finally became confident.

"Then I thought, there's no reason for me to postpone wearing the hijab anymore. Because my fear about work and people's perception, it seems like I'm being so bad to Allah if I keep holding onto that reason. Meanwhile, Allah has given me everything beyond belief. So when I returned from umrah, at that time, I never took it off again (the hijab)," she concluded.
