Ahead of SCTV's 31st Anniversary, Iwan Fals Auctions Painting for Covid-19 Affected Communities

Various exciting programs have been prepared for the SCTV anniversary event. One of them is to share concern for the community affected by the COVID-19 pandemic by holding the 31 Artis Xtraordinary Auction. Later, all the proceeds from the viewers' donations will be distributed by the Pundi Amal Peduli Kasih Foundation (YPP) in the SCTV Untuk Negeri program.

One of the artists involved in this artist auction is senior musician Iwan Fals, who will also perform at the 31st anniversary of SCTV. The singer of Bento revealed that painting is his favorite activity at home when he has free time.

"Yes, besides playing music, when I have free time in any situation, I like to paint. Initially, I studied fine arts, but it turned out to be more towards music. This becomes a companion in critical moments. After all, humans have their ups and downs," said Iwan Fals during a virtual press conference on Thursday (8/12).

1. Meaning of Painting

Iwan Fals also explained the meaning of his paintings. He doesn't like to paint an object, he prefers to play with colors.

According to him, those colors represent his feelings. According to Iwan Fals, colors hold many meanings that not many people know.

"So this is a collection of my feelings in any situation until I feel comfortable, that's when I'm done. Coincidentally, I worked on this painting all day," said Iwan Fals.

"I actually go beyond the object, I don't want any form. I just believe in colors, in what God gives, and it turns out that there is so much life within colors that we never know, which makes me feel relieved, there is a space for freedom. Especially when we all know the current situation. Coincidentally, there is this event, so I have this opportunity, who knows, it might help many people," he continued.

2. Hoping to Sell for 2.4 Trillion

Iwan Fals also hopes that his painting can help people affected by Covid-19. Jokingly, he hopes his painting can be sold for 2.4 trillion.

"If the painting is for me personally. Usually painting enthusiasts are also personal and connected to charity, which is also personal. We don't know other people's suffering. We only empathize to help. How about the price, 2.4 trillion. Haha," he said while laughing.

This Iwan Fals painting will later be taken to Studio Liputan 6. The winner of this painting auction will be announced on Independence Day, August 17th.

"Later the painting will be taken and brought to Studio Liputan 6. We will try to find someone who can bid the highest price. We will announce it on August 17th. So the theme is independence," concluded Benardi Rachmad, Deputy Director of Programming SCTV.
