Already Won the Divorce Trial, Inara Rusli Files Lawsuit Against Virgoun for Billions of Rupiah in Copyright & Royalty

Kapanlagi.com - The divorce drama between Inara Rusli and Virgoun seems to be far from over. After the decision of the West Jakarta Religious Court on November 10, 2023, the two are still in legal dispute.

It is known that Inara Rusli filed a lawsuit against Virgoun in the Central Jakarta District Court for alleged unlawful acts regarding the transfer of royalties and copyrights. Inara's lawyer, Arjana Bagaskara, explained how the civil lawsuit was filed.

"The issue with this unlawful act is that Virgoun transferred royalties and copyrights to the label without permission," said Arjana Bagaskara when contacted by the media on Friday (15/12).

This lawsuit includes Virgoun and two labels who received copyright and royalty transfers. Arjana also stated that Virgoun transferred the copyright to the label while still being legally married to Inara Rusli.

As for the royalties from the four songs, namely Surat Cinta Untuk Starla, Bukti, Orang yang Sama, and Saat Kau Telah Mengerti, they were transferred without permission from Inara Rusli. These four songs became joint assets according to the decision of the West Jakarta Religious Court, as Virgoun took inspiration from their three children.

"So these 4 songs in the decision of the West Jakarta Religious Court are joint assets, because joint assets must be in accordance with the wife's permission for the transfer," he said.

2. Claims Reach Billions

In addition, in her lawsuit, Inara Rusli submitted several points, including arguments regarding the transfer of copyright without permission, and a request for the cancellation of agreements with two labels through the court. This lawsuit is civil and material in nature, with royalty claims reaching billions of rupiah.

"We request that the court cancel the agreements with the two labels," she said.

"We consider that Virgoun and these two labels have committed unlawful acts," she added.
