Amanda Provides 'Free' English Education for Underprivileged Children

"Women's Day is an opportunity to voice our rights and jointly develop our vision and mission as Indonesian women. For example, we can create a movement like a campaign together to help and support other women to obtain the same rights," said Amanda, in the Dharmawangsa area of Jakarta, recently.

3. The Real Day to Celebrate

Amanda, who is still a student of Psychology at the University of Indonesia, added that International Women's Day is also the real day to celebrate.

The star of Mcd advertising (2019) and Vit drink (2020) and the Unstockholm Short Film (2020) participant at the International Olympiad of Science 2020 and the 2nd Winner Radio Announcer by 107.3 FM STAR Radio 2019, also reminded that many women have actually been helped on Women's Day.

4. Already Involved in Social Organizations

Amanda's love for public speaking has made her active as an MC, moderator, and speaker at youth events discussing communication, education, and adolescent mental health, to support each other among young people.

At the age of 19, Amanda is already heavily involved in social organizations, including Generaction Project, a non-profit organization that focuses on English education for underprivileged children in Indonesia.

5. Enjoys Speaking

This woman who enjoys speaking in English teaches underprivileged children by providing free English lessons. This social action began when Amanda saw that many children were interested in learning English but were hindered by limited resources, facilities, or access to learning English in this increasingly modern age. Children are more interested in playing with gadgets, especially in the midst of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

"So my organization also tries to gather young volunteers who have an interest in learning English and are willing to teach back to children in need, such as in orphanages or in villages outside with limited access to education. Hopefully, on Women's Day, this will also be a good moment for anyone who wants to do good and be useful to society, especially children and women," hopes Amanda.

6. As Founder and Executive Director

For your information, the Generaction Project was founded by Amanda two years ago, where she sits as the Founder and Executive Director who focuses on teaching English to economically disadvantaged children, specifically for grades 1-3 and 4-6.
