Ammar Zoni Claims Many Irregularities in Court, Prepares Appeal Memorandum

The seven-year prison sentence imposed by the Panel of Judges on Ammar Zoni has triggered dissatisfaction from the actor. Through his new legal team, Ammar revealed various points that were deemed irregular during the trial process at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (23/4/2026).

Ammar Zoni's new lawyers from Krisna Murti Law & Partners stated that they have recorded all of their client's complaints. These irregularities will be the main points in drafting the appeal memorandum that will be submitted to the High Court.

"Yes, we will add a little. First, we highly respect the decision of the Panel of Judges at the Central Jakarta District Court. And after the trial, we met with Bang Ammar, and Bang Ammar shared everything, many irregularities during the trial process. And Bang Ammar feels dissatisfied with the outcome of the Panel of Judges. Therefore, we will pursue an appeal," said Ammar Zoni's lawyer, Dimas Ramadan, when met in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Thursday (24/4/2026).

The legal counsel will examine the copy of the verdict from the Central Jakarta District Court to dissect which aspects can be challenged. They are optimistic about finding legal loopholes to lighten their client's sentence.

One of the highlighted points of oddity is the presence of items entering the detention that are linked to their client. Ammar insists that he is not the perpetrator as has been alleged all along.

"Yes, from the beginning, maybe from that oddity, how could there be a visit or what do you call it, items coming in. Yes, that becomes an oddity, so according to Ammar Zoni's confession, he is not the perpetrator," said Ammar Zoni's other legal counsel, Dwana Toligi.

"So the demands may be high, but the results are also approaching. So there is still dissatisfaction from Ammar Zoni regarding the 7-year sentence, he is still not satisfied. Because he believes he did not do it," he continued.

Ammar Zoni also feels that the articles he is charged with do not match the facts he believes in. This is what underlies Ammar's decision to reject the verdict and choose to appeal.

"After communicating with Bang Ammar, we will certainly strive for the best for Bang Ammar, and also to pay attention to the legal interests, that Bang Ammar is in a position where he feels dissatisfied with the Court's decision. That's right, regarding the articles he is charged with, according to Bang Ammar, he is not satisfied," Dwana explained further.

The target for this appeal submission will be carried out in the near future. The legal team is committed to not exceeding the seven-day deadline set by law. "Within these 7 days. Within these 7 days as the deadline given will be submitted," concluded Dwana Toligi.
