Ammar Zoni's Trial Witness Admits to Never Knowing About Drug Ownership in Detention Center

The continuation hearing of the drug trafficking case involving actor Ammar Zoni was held again with the agenda of hearing witness statements at the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (29/1/2026). In this session, Ammar Zoni's side presented Andri Setiawan Indrakusuma as a mitigating witness.

Andri admitted that he knew Ammar Zoni because they had both occupied the same block during their detention. While there, Andri often spent time with the former husband of Irish Bella, especially when they were in the television room waiting for their schedule to return to their respective cells.

"I know (Ammar Zoni), I kind of forget (when I started knowing him) the date and month, but it was March-April 2024 when he entered my block," Andri said in his testimony in the courtroom of the Central Jakarta District Court on Thursday (29/1/2026).

In his testimony, Andri revealed that the circulation of narcotics is suspected to still occur within the prison environment. He even explained the organizational structure of the circulation, which uses certain codes, such as the terms 'tree' and 'pharmacy'.

"There are several trees (dealers) of narcotics in Salemba. From each tree, there are subordinates or pharmacies," said Andri.

Furthermore, he recounted that the circulation was affected by a video that went viral on social media. This led the prison authorities to take firm action against the perpetrators. However, Andri mentioned that this situation did not last long because new groups emerged within the prison.

"When I first went to Salemba, there was only one tree. In September, a viral video on TikTok showed drug trafficking, and eventually, the tree and its members were put in jail and flown away. A month later, several trees appeared," said Andri.

Although aware of the ins and outs of the alleged distribution of illegal goods there, Andri emphasized that he never saw Ammar Zoni involved. During his interactions in the block, he did not find the actor possessing or storing drugs.

"I never (knew Ammar Zoni had drugs) while I was there," he said.

Regarding the search that was conducted in Ammar Zoni's room, Andri admitted to knowing about it. However, he did not see the inspection process directly due to their different room positions. "I knew (Ammar was searched) only by hearing because we were in different rooms," Andri emphasized.
