Who would have thought that behind her cold face and sharp gaze that often terrorizes viewers in horror films, Shareefa Daanish actually has a contradictory side. The actress, known for her roles in scary films, openly admits that she is a coward.

This shocking confession was made by Shareefa when she was met at the MVP office in South Jakarta. She stated that fundamentally, she is afraid of things related to the mystical. However, it is that very fear that gives her a unique satisfaction when she manages to scare others through her acting.

"The pleasure of shooting horror films (is) being able to scare people. (But) basically, I'm actually a scared person, afraid of mystical things like that," Shareefa honestly said.

So much so that Shareefa even used to be afraid to sleep alone in the past. When watching horror movies, she would often close her eyes while asking her friends questions because she was afraid of being startled.

"I used to be afraid to sleep alone. Oh yes. But now I'm braver. And when watching horror movies, I tend to close my eyes more while asking questions like, 'What's happening? What's going on?' Because I'm scared, scared of being startled," she reminisced.

Fortunately, over time and with many experiences shooting horror films, Shareefa's courage began to grow. Now, she admits she is much braver than before, although she still occasionally closes her eyes during scary scenes.

"Still, but much better, so much better than before. Maybe now it's because I often play in horror films, so it's like, yeah, it's fine," she added.

Now, Shareefa is once again challenging her fears by starring in the film Cerita Lila. This film, based on the true story of Sara Wijayanto's exploration, will begin shooting in Yogyakarta soon.

Shareefa hopes this film will not only be scary but also convey a moral message about a mother's struggle.
