Reza Rahadian's Horror Comeback After 15 Years in the Film SUZZANNA, His Acting is Described as 'Irreplaceable'

"To be honest, this time I say it has to be Reza, no one else can play this role. Because a skill is needed to portray this character, a change in the midst of changing emotions, and I think Reza is the most suitable for this. So Reza can't escape this time," said Sunil Soraya when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Monday (1/26/2026).

Reza personally admitted that he was interested in the script of this film because the issues raised are very relevant to the current social conditions. According to him, this film is not just an ordinary horror, but a portrait of human resistance against oppressive power.

"That is to show how when there is such pressure that is so stifling, resistance is born. From resistance, we can gain various things, both positive and negative, and that is to overcome an unruly power," explained Reza Rahadian.

In addition to a strong story, the factor of director Azhar Kinoi Lubis was also a reason for Reza to accept this offer. He admitted that he has known Kinoi for a long time and is happy to be directed by a director who was once an assistant director in previous projects.

Reza also gave high praise to his co-star, Luna Maya. He admitted to being impressed with Luna's professionalism and dedication, as she was willing to arrive the earliest for the lengthy prosthetic makeup process.

"I love working with Luna Maya so very much. I think she's a great actress, very professional. She is very...I know Luna's hard work is to be the first to arrive of all the cast, for makeup the earliest," praised Reza. He sees this film as having a different depth of story, where the character Suzzanna is portrayed as a person experiencing inner turmoil due to oppression.

"Because Suzzanna is perhaps the second horror film in the last 15 years. I have been away from horror films for quite a long time and then got involved, and I see this, is it a horror film? It is a horror film in a way, but because Suzzanna is also here as a human," he concluded.
