Anti Horror Film, Lulu Tobing Initially Refused When Offered to be Involved in the Remake of 'GUNA-GUNA ISTRI MUDA'

Kapanlagi.com - Lulu Tobing is involved in the horror film GUNA-GUNA ISTRI MUDA which is a remake of the film with the same title released in 1977. She plays Vivian, a wife who willingly accepts her husband's polygamy played by Anjasmara.

Interestingly, Lulu initially refused when she was first offered to be involved in Razka Robby Ertanto's film. The reason being that she is against horror genre films.

"Initially, I refused because this is a genre that I avoid. I don't watch horror films and I don't like horror," said Lulu during a press conference in Duren Tiga, South Jakarta, on Thursday (13/7/2023).

However, Lulu Tobing was later convinced by Falcon Pictures as the production house behind the remake of GUNA-GUNA ISTRI MUDA. They said that this will be a different and elegant horror.

"Finally, I had a video call with Falcon Pictures. They encouraged me that by stepping out of my comfort zone, I might get something different. Turns out, just in the reading process, I found new knowledge and enthusiasm," said Lulu.

2. A Different Pelakor Story

Razka Robby Ertanto, the director of GUNA-GUNA ISTRI MUDA, said that this film will experience an increase in horror level compared to the 1977 version. The element of pelakor that is included will also be different from what already exists.

"This remake version will use the current year setting with a stronger cause and effect on the relationship in the pelakor drama. The story of the pelakor will be different, God willing. We will raise the level of drama and horror," said Razka Robby on the same occasion.
