Anton Widiastanto Exposes the Fact of Being Forced to Resign from Sheila On 7

Shortly after, Anton's position was replaced by Brian Kresno Putro and So7 continued their career. So what happened to Anton? He seemed to disappear and was never exposed again.

Recently, all the mysteries surrounding Anton's departure from Sheila On 7 were finally revealed. It was even revealed by the drummer himself in the Youtube channel medcom.id.

1. Split in 2004

On that occasion, Anton reminisced about all his journey with Sheila On 7, from their formation, recording their first album, to the eventual split that happened. All those problems occurred around 2004.

"Our last album (PEJANTAN TANGGUH) we had a tour in many cities, interrupted by the fasting month break, October 2004, after Eid we continued. There was no schedule during the break. And I happened to win a prize to watch Moto GP in Malaysia in 2004. Because I saw there was no (tour) schedule, I went," Anton recalled.

2. Asked to Resign Unilaterally

After returning from Malaysia, Anton was called by management. And believe it or not, he was forced to resign very suddenly and without any prior discussion. Anton was shocked to say the least.

"After coming back (from Malaysia), I was sick for a week, had a fever. Then I was called to the office, given a resignation letter that I never wrote. So in the letter, it was written, I, Anton, declare my resignation because of this and that, and it also said that I am entitled to receive a severance pay of Rp 15 million. It's written there, I still have the letter," said the 41-year-old man.

"First, I never wrote that letter, secondly, if I were to resign, why would I ask for 15 million? If I wanted to resign, I would just resign without asking for anything. When I was called, only Adam and the manager were there," he explained.

3. Like Struck by Lightning

As known, there were rumors circulating that Anton was said to be undisciplined because he often left the band for the sake of other communities. However, according to Anton, the news is completely untrue.

"So at that time, it was like being struck by lightning. Oh, why is it like this? I suddenly felt sad, like being thrown. The reason is like this, even though I didn't violate the schedule, I mean if there's a schedule for a performance, I'll perform. Outside of that, it's up to me. Well, I'm the type of person who doesn't like prolonged debates," Anton concluded.
