Antonio Blanco Jr Learning Archery to Win Diandra Agatha's Heart

Antonio Blanco Jr is taking on a unique new challenge in his latest acting project titled ASMARA ASRAMA. The 25-year-old man has to dive into the sport of archery to strengthen the character he plays in this WeTV Original series.

"The process is that, well, I had never done archery before. Usually, I aim for a woman's heart... (laughs). But now it's real archery," said Antonio Blanco Jr when met by KapanLagi in the Depok area, West Java, on Monday (18/05/2026).

The Spanish-Italian actor expressed his enthusiasm as he has to learn archery techniques from scratch. He received intensive training sessions three times, guided by a professional coach for optimal results.

"So there are actually a lot of techniques. Because later there will be a little sneak peek, there’s a scene where I teach Asmara how to shoot an arrow, while there’s also a bit of romance," Antonio continued.

Antonio explained that the production team took this scene very seriously by bringing in an experienced coach. The person who trained him is a former Sea Games athlete, so the techniques provided are very accurate and professional.

"Which archery are we talking about? Hitting a woman's heart is hard, yes, it’s indeed hard to win over a woman. But actual archery is not difficult, it just requires patience," said Antonio.

Antonio felt an incredible sensation when he successfully released the arrow right on target during the shooting process. For him, this sport is not just a role requirement but can also be a way to relieve stress on set.

"Especially when we successfully release the arrow, there’s a sense of stress relief. Yeah, it feels really good," said the grandson of the legendary painter the late Antonio Blanco.

In addition to physical training, Antonio is also actively conducting independent research through videos of world archery competitions. He does this so that the audience can believe that his character is indeed accustomed to holding the bow correctly.

This series tells the story of Mara who is forced to disguise herself as a man to maintain her twin brother Rama's scholarship. This teen drama, full of hilarious situations, is produced by Magma Entertainment and is scheduled to premiere soon on the WeTV platform.
