Ario Bayu Remembers the Past of Being a Dishwasher to Becoming a Barista

To the media, Ario openly shared that he used to work as a dishwasher. However, the 35-year-old man feels grateful for going through those times as they have given him valuable experiences.

"I used to work as a dishwasher in Australia, in a restaurant in Thailand for about 8 months. Sometimes I include it in my resume and mention it during interviews, saying that I used to always maintain the cleanliness of the dishes," Ario Bayu reminisced when met in the area of Jalan Kapten Tendean, Mampang, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (28/4).

1. Once a Barista

In addition to being a dishwasher, Ario has tried various other jobs, such as being a barista and OB at a company. It is unexpected that he can now succeed in the film industry of the homeland, and even has various businesses of his own.

"Like when I used to be a barista, I didn't know, suddenly a few years later I have a cafe, finally I can teach my baristas how to make coffee. Who would have known that? Washing dishes, finally I have a restaurant business, finally I have skills in the kitchen. A chef can't function without a dishwasher, where would the food be placed? So this component is very important," he continued.

2. Still Often Helps with Dishwashing

Even now that he is already a boss, Ario is never ashamed to go straight to the kitchen to help with dishwashing. That's because from his experience Ario was able to build his business to its current size.

"No, not because of economics, but because of experience. For me, sustenance is experience. If you want to have a lot of sustenance, you must have a lot of experience. Experience makes me not ashamed to wash dishes. Just look at me washing dishes at my cafe. What's there to be ashamed of? If my glasses are not washed, how can I make coffee again for the next customer? It's just a function, why be ashamed? Besides, with dishwashing, I also receive sustenance," Ario concluded.
