Arrested Again for Using New Type of Drugs, Jeff Smith Admits Consuming 4 Sheets a Day

Kapanlagi.com - The police have once again arrested actor Jeff Smith for drug abuse, on Wednesday (8/12/2021). Previously, Jeff had also been detained for the same case in April 2021. And less than 3 months after being released, Jeff was arrested again.

Head of Public Relations of the Jakarta Metro Police, Kombes Pol. Endra Zulpan, said that Jeff Smith was arrested at his residence in the Depok area around 18:30 WIB. During the arrest, the police confiscated evidence of Lysergic Acid Diethylamide (LSD) drugs.

"When he was arrested, he had just used it. There are still 2 sheets left. When he was tested, his urine test was positive and he was under the influence, hallucinating," said Zulpan at the Jakarta Metro Police Headquarters on Thursday (9/12/2021).

1. New Type of Drugs

According to Zulpan, LSD is a new type of narcotic that is very dangerous for health. Therefore, LSD itself is classified as a class one drug.

"LSD is classified as a new type. Its usage on the tongue and its effects cause hallucinations. This is a very dangerous narcotic, so it falls into the class one category," he said.

LSD is highly sought after because of its easy usage and the effects it produces are almost similar to other types of narcotics.

"This is a new type of narcotic that is highly sought after by addicts because of its easy and simple usage, it doesn't require tools like bongs and such. Just place it on the tongue while the effects it produces are similar to other types of narcotics," said Zulpan.

2. Ordering 50 Sheets

According to Zulpan, Jeff Smith admitted to consuming 4 sheets of LSD in one day. In his confession, Jeff ordered 50 sheets of this new type of drug.

"His confession was that he took four sheets of LSD in one day. His last order was 50 sheets. If in the market, each sheet is around Rp500,000," he said.

This arrest is the second time for Jeff Smith. Previously, Jeff Smith was arrested by the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Narcotics Unit in April 2021 for the abuse of marijuana. Jeff Smith was recently released about 3 months ago in relation to that case.

3. Hallucinations When Arrested

In his statement to the police, Jeff revealed his reasons for using LSD. He claimed that the drug was used to help him avoid fatigue and stay focused on his work.

"The reason he gave is that as an soap opera artist, he wants to avoid getting tired and stay focused on his work," said Zulpan.

According to Zulpan, Jeff Smith's reasons are fabricated. The effects of LSD cause hallucinations. "That's right. This is hallucination," he said.

4. Second Arrest

This arrest is the second time for Jeff Smith. Previously, he was arrested by the Narcotics Unit of West Jakarta Metro Police in April 2021 for the abuse of marijuana.

Jeff himself was recently released about 3 months ago regarding that case. However, unfortunately, he now has to deal with the law again for a similar case.

5. Family Does Not Know

Apparently, the news of Jeff's re-arrest for drug possession is not known to his family. This was stated by Aldi Surya Kusumah, who was Jeff Smith's legal representative in the previous case.

"I contacted his family, but there is no information yet," said Aldi Surya Kusumah when contacted by the media on Wednesday (8/12) night.
