Ashanty's Moment Interviewing Rhoma Irama for Her Dissertation, Visiting the Soneta Studio

Ashanty is pursuing her PhD in Human Resource Development at Airlangga University. Anang Hermansyah's wife is currently focused on compiling her dissertation titled 'Adaptation Strategies of Baby Boomer and Generation X Singers to Digital Transformation' as a graduation requirement.

To achieve this, Ashanty interviews several singers who meet the criteria as 'Baby Boomer and Generation X Singers' in her research. Notable names such as Kris Dayanti, Titi DJ, and Camelia Malik have already been approached by Ashanty. Most recently, the 41-year-old woman interviewed Rhoma Irama, the King of Dangdut.

"Who doesn't know this extraordinary figure... a singer, musician, songwriter, legendary producer, and actor," wrote Ashanty in the caption of her post on Saturday (27/09).

Ashanty visited the Soneta studio to interview Rhoma Irama. She was taken on a tour of the studio.

"It is a great honor to have the opportunity to interview him for my dissertation. I even got to tour and see the studio where he produces his songs," she continued.

Rhoma Irama is not just a senior musician. According to Ashanty, Rhoma Irama is a musician as well as a preacher who conveys messages through the lyrics of his songs.

"He is known as a figure who blends music with messages of Islamic preaching, thus creating a distinctive genre of dangdut music with lyrics that are rich in meaning," concluded Ashanty.

As is known, Rhoma Irama was born in 1946, the year when the baby boomer generation began (1946-1964). Thus, the singer of 'Gala Gala' fits the criteria of Ashanty's dissertation research.
