Askara Parasady Regrets His Child Being Used as Witness in Alleged Abuse Case

Kapanlagi.com - Former husband of Nindy Ayunda, Askara Parasady Harsono gave testimony as a witness in the trial of the alleged abuse of his youngest child by his former house assistant, Lia Kariati, at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (31/3/2022).

Askara Parasady Harsono appeared in court as a witness for the defendant, Lia Karyati. Meanwhile, Lia Kariati appeared virtually from the East Jakarta Pondok Bambu Detention Center. In his testimony, Askara admitted to having seen CCTV footage in which Lia allegedly abused his youngest child, Akifa Dhinara.

1. Nindy Refuses to Forgive

In a previous hearing, Nindy Ayunda admitted that she refuses to forgive Lia Karyati because she feels hurt that her child was subjected to abuse by the former domestic worker. Meanwhile, Askara himself considers the incident to be in the past because he has fully forgiven Lia's mistake.

"Until now, I don't want to see that (CCTV footage) again. As a father, I cannot accept it, but humans are not perfect," said Askara in the trial on Thursday (31/3/2022).

2. New Case Brought Up

Askara actually questioned why this case is being brought up again now. After all, the incident itself has already taken place a long time ago. As a parent, Askara regrets that his child has to be a witness in this alleged abuse case.

"I am very sorry why this case is being questioned now? Because we have reconciled and forgiven each other, it means we have accepted her mistake," said Askara.

3. The Defendant is Pregnant

Furthermore, Lia Karyati herself is currently 8 months pregnant and detained at Rutan Pondok Bambu, East Jakarta. Lia Karyati's lawyer, Fahmi Bachmid, hopes that Askara's testimony in this trial can lighten the punishment for his client.

"Ms. Lia has been detained for three months now, and she is currently 8 months pregnant. She is now at Rutan Pondok Bambu, it's so pitiful for her. She was assigned to take care of her children, Nindy," said Fahmi.

"She was told to feed her children, and if her child didn't want to eat, she was forced to do so. When my client carried out her duties as instructed, she was reported instead," Fahmi concluded.

4. Akifa's Testimony

Akifa Dhinara Parasady Harsono gave testimony as a witness in the trial of alleged assault by her former household assistant, Lia Karyati, at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (29/3/2022). Nindy and her daughter attended the trial virtually.

In her testimony, Akifa said that she had suffered a lot of violence from her former ART. She had been beaten, pulled, and even had her hands twisted.

"A lot. Beaten, pulled, and pinched. Her legs and hands were pulled, and her hands were pinched," Akifa said in the virtual trial at the South Jakarta District Court on Tuesday (29/3/2022).
