Asked About Whether Nikita Mirzani Has Been Secured or Not, Lawyer: Ask Above

The beautiful presenter known for her straightforward style was taken by the police to the South Jakarta Police Resort after being picked up on Thursday night (30/1/2020) for being reported for violence by her ex-husband, Dipo Latief. Niki herself had to be picked up because she was said to not come when called and always had reasons to ask for permission, whether it was for umrah or being sick.

Niki's lawyer, Fahmi Bachmid, stated that her client's condition is healthy although her voice is slightly hoarse. Niki is also relaxed and ready to undergo the examination according to her obligations. When asked about the news that this case will be handed over to the Prosecutor's Office, Fahmi admitted that he cannot answer now.

"Because the handover is the full authority of the investigator, it means ask above (the police), what is clear is that this process is a process that must be passed as a citizen. Even though she did ask for permission, yes, at that time she was sick, but she kept asking for time continuously, meaning she was not working, meaning she also asked me what she should eat, how about my child, well, I can't stop someone who wants to earn a living and what is clear is that this is the authority of the investigator. But one thing that must be understood is that this incident does not mean that Nikita is guilty, because this is still an assumption, still a suspect, the process is still long," explained Fahmi when met at the South Jakarta Police Resort, early Friday morning (31/1/2020).

1. Secured Already?

When asked if Niki was forcibly taken, Fahmi said he didn't know because he had just arrived at the police station. But what is clear is that his client will cooperate in undergoing questioning as a good citizen. When asked if Niki has been secured, Fahmi refused to answer.

"Above, it's different, being secured is different," said Fahmi, who continued to refuse to explain and said Niki was still in the police building when pressed on whether his client had been secured or not.

2. Shocking Evidence

When asked about the next steps of Niki's legal team, Fahmi explained that it is still a lawyer's strategy. What is clear is that they have evidence to defend Niki in this case.

"That is the process that we will reveal, whether there is really an assault, later it's just a matter of relaxed evidence. Oh, if everything is revealed, it will be surprising," concluded Fahmi, who admitted that he did not know whether Niki was allowed to go home or not.
