At the Beginning of Her Career as a Singer, Apparently Raisa Was Confused in Finding Her Identity

"At the beginning, I was confused about whose expectations I should fulfill, like 'will people like me if I do this?' At the beginning, there were many people telling me how to dress, how the music should be, while I had my own ideals and desires," said Raisa in a virtual press conference held on Wednesday (28/10).

She mentioned that this sometimes caused conflicts within herself. Because she had to choose whether to follow her own ideals or be what others wanted in order to make many people happy with her.

"So at the beginning of my career, it was a challenge for me to find my identity and determine who we want to please, ourselves or others," said the 30-year-old woman.

1. Difficult to Adapt

In addition, Raisa also admitted that she is an individual who finds it difficult to adapt and felt that the beginning of 2020 was a difficult time for her because the COVID-19 pandemic hit Indonesia. She, who was used to being busy doing various activities outside the house, now has to do everything at home. However, apparently due to the pandemic situation, Raisa was able to discover other talents within herself, such as cooking.

"Now I'm actually unlocking new hobbies and skills that I previously ignored. I love cooking, but I feel awkward in front of the camera besides singing. When I was stuck on what to do, I ended up making cooking videos and it turns out that many people recreate them," she said.

2. Try Something New

For her, times like these are the right time for everyone to try new things. Because she believes that everyone is also doing the same things as her, so there is no need to be afraid of failure.

"Trying new things is now the time, because everyone is busy with something new. If we fail, it's okay, because this is the time for us to fail and try again because everyone is doing the same thing," she concluded.
