Aurra Kharishma Crowned as Miss Grand Indonesia 2020, Presented with a Crown Adorned with Gold and Diamonds

Kapanlagi.com - The Grand Final of Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 was held on Sunday (21/6) last week. After going through a tough selection process, Aurra Kharishma finally emerged as the winner, defeating 4 other finalists. Meanwhile, her closest competitor, Bella Aprilia Sant, received the title of 1st Runner Up Miss Grand Indonesia 2020.

Previously, the finalists in the Grand Final round, consisting of Aurra Kharishma, Bella Aprillia, Nadia Ingrida, Jessika Lagu, and Jazmine Rowe, successfully defeated 37 individuals in the preliminary round. Since February 2020, the five of them have been undergoing quarantine in an apartment called Roseville Soho and Suites.

As is known, Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 is organized by the Mega Bintang World Foundation owned by Ivan Gunawan. This event was held privately due to the COVID-19 pandemic situation. Even when performing on the judging stage, the finalists wore masks.

"Through the Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 pageant, I want to empower Indonesian women to develop their self-confidence so that they can achieve the best in their personal lives. Because in my opinion, women with good self-confidence will have the power to make changes in their lives, making what they do useful for the community," said Igun in a press release received by KapanLagi.com.

1. Changed Quarantine System

During the quarantine period, the finalists were equipped with various knowledge provided by expert mentors in their respective fields. They also received regular beauty treatments at MS Glow Aesthetic Clinic.

However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has been ongoing since March, Ivan Gunawan changed the quarantine system. All participants were sent back to their respective homes for their own health interests.

"For me, safety is better. Prevention is better than cure. That's why I chose to change the quarantine process," said the designer.

In the Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 event, Igun also served as one of the direct judges. In addition, there are several other well-known public figures who also became judges, such as Sarwendah, Junita Liesar, Nadia Purwoko, Ari Tulang, Arief Budiman, and Drg Devya Linda.

"Being beautiful with a certain height is essential. But there are other important things as well. Through the Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 selection, I want to share knowledge with Indonesian women so that they can develop their talents within society and eventually bring honor to Indonesia in the eyes of the world," said Igun.

3. Exclusively Broadcasted on MOP Channel

In addition, Ivan Gunawan also partnered with Ruben Onsu's Youtube channel, MOP Channel, as its official broadcasting partner. All activities of the finalists, from quarantine to the grand final, are covered and exclusively aired in the form of a reality show.

"MOP is one of the biggest Youtube channels with many subscribers. That's why I intentionally created the concept of the Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 reality show so that all the finalists can easily be recognized for their characters by the public, especially by pageant lovers. The finalists can also self-brand themselves and be evaluated directly by the public," explained Igun further.

4. Aurra Kharishma Receives a Crown Adorned with Gold

Speaking of the winner, Aurra Kharishma is a 21-year-old girl born in Majalengka. Of course, she is very happy and proud of her highest achievement in her career. Moreover, she will be sent as Indonesia's representative to compete in the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant.

"I am very grateful because this is a dream come true. Becoming Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 and having the opportunity to represent Indonesia in the upcoming Miss Grand International 2020. Here, I learned to be a complete beauty queen who can inspire many people," expressed Aurra.

As the winner, Aurra Kharishma is entitled to receive a victory crown named World of Victory. The crown is made of precious metal coated with white and pink gold, adorned with over 7,000 highest-grade cubic zirconia stones in 2 different shapes, round and pear-shaped, including 154 cubic zirconia stones mounted with the Dancing Stone mechanism.

In addition to receiving the World Of Victory victory crown, the winner of Miss Grand Indonesia 2020 will be sent to the Miss Grand International 2020 pageant in Venezuela next October.
