"At first, I really didn't expect it. It started because I was just selling clothes, then a couple came with their child, and the child was fussy, so I tried to entertain them with that viral style, and it turns out there was a husband with a camera ready, from there he edited it with his husband, posted it, and then it went viral," said Ayu Puspa when met in the Kapten Tendean area, South Jakarta, Wednesday (7/5/2025).

"Honestly, Puspa didn't expect it to go this viral. If it went viral in Indonesia, that would be fine, but on Puspa's Instagram, there were tags from Myanmar, India, everything tagged Puspa, so 'wow, I didn't expect this'," she said.

Puspa is indeed active in creating content with her husband on various digital platforms. She mentioned that she has been involved as a content creator as well as a businesswoman for a long time.

"Yes, Puspa and her husband are active on YouTube, Instagram, yes as content creators, and also have a business," she said.

The sweet smile that went viral is part of a trend inspired by South Korean actor Kim Seon Ho. Puspa also admitted to enjoying Korean dramas and the adorable characters.

"I like it, I like K-dramas, and I like the cute ones," said Puspa while laughing.

Apparently, the smile captured on camera was truly spontaneous and not an act. According to Puspa, that moment happened completely naturally.

"Yes, it was spontaneous, because it was a candid camera, right, so I was really natural and my husband was recording," she explained.

The virality of that video has brought many positive impacts to her life and business. Puspa mentioned that now there are more job offers and more people recognize her.

"The change is more in the number of job offers, and those who recognize me used to know Puspa when she was still small, but now people of all ages greet me with 'Hello little Puspa' like that," she said.

"Yes, the work affects all of Puspa's businesses from kebaya, skincare, herbal, everything sold out, gone," said Puspa.

"Hopefully, I can make my friends happy and entertained," Puspa hopes.

"Yes, I was also surprised to be nicknamed the Ambassador of Smiles of Indonesia, but it's okay, smiling is a blessing," she concluded.
