Barely Rescued During Stroke, Tio Pakusadewo Saved by Childhood Friends Who Jumped the Fence

The life story of senior actor Tio Pakusadewo is indeed full of twists and turns. One of the most thrilling life experiences he ever had occurred when he suffered a stroke for the first time. At that time, Tio was alone at home in the middle of the night, in a condition that made him barely able to be helped if not for his childhood friends.

"I was alone at home, at 2 AM I felt confused and then blacked out, then came to again, and tried to contact the kids' numbers but no one answered because it was 2 AM," he said when met on Captain Tendean Street, Mampang, South Jakarta, Tuesday (8/4/2025).

A man named Kanjeng Raden Tumenggung Irwan Susetyo Pakusadewo then claimed he was only able to get up around five in the morning. In a weak condition, he contacted his old friends who then came to his house a few hours later.

"The ones who came were my friends, friends from middle school who arrived at his house at 12, jumped over the gate, broke everything, entered my room in a state where I couldn't do anything," said the 61-year-old man.

They took the initiative to provide first aid in the hope of still being able to save Tio during what is referred to as the *golden hour*, a crucial moment that can determine the survival of a stroke victim."During the golden hour, we tried to get blood out from his hands, from his ears, from wherever, then took him to RS PON," he said.

Fortunately, the help from his childhood friends paid off. Tio managed to receive the appropriate medical treatment and survived a critical condition. He feels grateful because he was taken to a specialized brain hospital that is competent in handling cases like his.

"Fortunately, he was taken there; if not, he might have been gone," said the father of three, while taking a deep breath reminiscing about those critical times.

Interestingly, some time before the stroke incident, Tio was actually filming a movie titled Bukaan Delapan where he played a stroke patient. He himself did not expect that role to become a sort of omen in his life.

"And what's frustrating is that before I had a stroke, I was shooting a film, titled Bukaan Delapan, and then I became a stroke victim. That's it," he said, ending the story with a bitter tone.
