Bebizie Responds to KPK Summons, Clarifies Singing Fees in East Kalimantan

Kapanlagi.com - Bebizie Sri Mulyati responded to the summons from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) as a witness related to the investigation of alleged Money Laundering Crimes (TPPU) in the Kutai Kartanegara area, East Kalimantan. The examination focused on the connection of her name recorded in the transactions of a company that is being investigated by the authorities.

"Yes, today I am responding to the summons from the KPK in connection with the examination, assisting in the investigation of the case today. And my status is as a singer, performing in East Kalimantan," said Bebizie.

This statement was made at the KPK building on Thursday (13/08/2024). The singer, who is also a politician from PAN, was present to provide information regarding the flow of payments related to her professional activities as a performer in East Kalimantan during the period of 2017–2018.

According to Bebizie’s explanation, the investigator requested clarification regarding her name that appeared in transactions of the company being investigated by the KPK. She stated that her visit was to provide information according to her capacity during the questioned time period.

"So I was asked what the connection was, so I explained that in 2017-2018 I performed several times in East Kalimantan, invited by a company, then there was a company that invited me. That’s it," she added.

She recounted that the explanation was given regarding the payment she received as part of her singing work in that region. Bebizie stated that the money recorded was professional fees from the work contract agreed upon with the inviting party in East Kalimantan.

2. Singing Fees 2017–2018 Become Focus of Investigation

Bebizie emphasized that the work activities in question occurred about seven years ago, when she was still very active performing from stage to stage. This period included several performances in East Kalimantan with a professional status as a singer.

"Yes, so because there was a payment transaction, I was called regarding that. God willing, I have accounted for it because I was indeed a singer at that time," said Bebizie.

"Professionally, that’s correct. That’s all, that’s all that was communicated," she stated.

3. Number of Questions and Employment Contract Status

During the examination, Bebizie mentioned that the investigators asked about the details of the contract and payment transactions from the company that invited her to perform in East Kalimantan. The confirmed time frame was from 2017 to 2018.

"About 29 (questions) related to that, I had a singing contract from 2017 to 2018 when I performed in East Kalimantan," explained Bebizie.

She stated that the information provided focused on the professional aspects of her work as an entertainer. Bebizie also emphasized her presence to assist in the examination process as a witness in the ongoing case.
