Although a demon, Tamayo actually prefers to side with humans and wants to collaborate to defeat the demon king, Kibutsuji Muzan.

Although rarely seen in direct combat, she assists the demon slayer corps by concocting medicines to heal various wounds. She is also the one who created the medicine for Nezuko so she could return to being human.

In addition to being instrumental in healing Nezuko, Tamayo was also the one who created the medicine to kill the demon king, Kibutsuji Muzan. She devised a special potion to weaken Muzan with the help of Kocho Shinobu.

The main reason she became a demon was that she wanted to heal from her illness to prolong her life to continue watching her child grow up. However, she ended up consuming her own child and husband to survive as a demon.

That is what fueled her resentment towards Muzan and her desire to kill him. She is one of the most significant characters in the Final Battle Arc for defeating Muzan by injecting a poisonous potion into his body through her strike.

Throughout his life as a demon, he was always accompanied by Yushiro. Yushiro himself is a patient of Tamayo who was dying. Of his own will, Yushiro became a demon so he could live longer.  Â
