Becoming a Father of Two, 8 Photos of Randy Pangalila Highlighting the Importance of Setting a Positive Example for His Children

"Wow, my child is very eager; whatever I do, he wants to do it too," said Randy with a smile when met in the Ragunan area, South Jakarta, recently.   "I swim, he also wants to swim; I do kickboxing, he wants to hit the punching bag too; I sing, he listens and says, ‘later when I'm bigger, I wanna sing like you,’" Randy shared about his child who is starting to imitate various activities he does.

According to Randy, children do not only learn from words but more from the real examples provided by their parents.   "Indeed, that's how children are; they don't just learn from what we teach them, but we have to set an example. For instance, if we teach them, they will see that, well, dad doesn't do it that way, so it's more about us setting the example," he stated.

As a father, Randy realizes the importance of precious moments in a child's development, especially during the 'golden age' which is a crucial phase in their growth.   "I have also talked to my wife; I am also afraid of missing moments," said Randy.

However, he and Chelsey remind each other that all the blessings and opportunities that come their way are gifts to be grateful for. Despite their busy shooting schedule, Randy and Chelsey have their own ways to stay connected with their children. "So like... he can come to the shooting location or we can video call. Just don’t leave me to Canada yet," Randy added with a laugh.

Interestingly, even though his children are starting to show interest in various activities that he does, Randy does not try to impose a certain direction for his children's future careers.   "No, not at all. It's up to them, what’s certain is that I will teach them whatever I know. But their interests, let them choose their own path," Randy asserted.

As a father, Randy also acknowledges that this role has transformed him into a wiser person.   “It makes us more mature, more wise. Before, I was the one managing finances poorly, but now I’m much wiser,” said Randy.

According to Randy, being a parent is not just about educating his children, but also a learning process for himself. He feels that this experience has made him more sensitive to the needs of his family and encourages him to always be a good role model.

Every moment he spends with Blair and Asher is now his biggest motivation to keep working hard, because if not now, when else?   "Just be more mature... because everything now is for family," concluded Randy.
