Becoming a Member of the Indonesian Parliament, Verrel Bramasta Spends Billions for Campaign - Ensuring No Debt and Using Other People's Money

"It's called effort, trying our best. But, as always taught since the beginning, don't let the stake be bigger than the pillar. God forbid. Alhamdulillah, until now we have no debts, we don't use other people's money. No debts of gratitude, to put it harshly," said Verrell when met in Kemang, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (20/3/2024).

Verrell Bramasta admits that he talks a lot with fellow artist candidates for the legislative. Based on these conversations, he knows that the expenses for the campaign are relatively lower compared to others.

"Compared to other artist friends that we like to share with, actually our expenses are relatively much smaller than theirs," said the eldest son of Venna Melinda.

Regarding the allegation of billions of rupiah spent on the campaign, Ivan Fadillah, as the campaign team of Verrell Bramasta, gave a wise answer. Whatever it is, he is grateful for the success achieved by his son.

"The operational fund is definitely necessary, it's impossible not to have it because we go to a fairly distant electoral district, where we gather with the community, we definitely need a significant amount of funds. So, it does require energy, physical, mental, and material resources to be able to (succeed). But ultimately, luck from Allah is also needed," Ivan emphasized on the same occasion.

As known, Verrell has officially been declared as a member of the Indonesian Parliament (DPR RI) from the electoral district (dapil) of West Java VII. He defeated several other names who were also supported by PAN.

This electoral district includes Bekasi Regency, Karawang, and Purwakarta. He follows in the footsteps of his mother, Venna Melinda, who was a member of the Indonesian Parliament from 2009 to 2014.

Not only that, Verrell also successfully 'surpassed' his stepmother. Sarni, Ivan Fadilla's wife, is a member of the Bogor City DPRD from the Gerindra Party Faction.
