Angel Pieters gave birth to her first child last December. This little baby, Angel's beloved, is named Caspar Arsyanendra Wisesa and now fills Angel's days.
Angel has just shared her experience as a breastfeeding mother, which she found to be not easy and even made her shocked. Here's her heartfelt confession!
Angel was surprised because breastfeeding turned out to be not as easy as she thought, as she felt that no one had informed her about it.
Angel shows colostrum, the first food for newborn babies that comes out of the mother's breast before breast milk. Colostrum is formed during the late stages of pregnancy until several days after giving birth. Angel said that it was painful when it was manually extracted from her breast.
Angel admitted that at first her breast milk did not come out much, which made her go back and forth to the lactation room to get help in expressing milk. It was really painful and Angel felt mentally exhausted.
When she returned home, Angel felt sad and stressed because she felt her baby was not getting enough breast milk. The baby cried every 30 minutes.
Therefore, Angel never gave up and tried to produce more breast milk for Caspar.
Angel tried various ways, including eating foods that are said to increase breast milk. She received support from her husband, midwife, nurse, and people around her.
Although she struggled to breastfeed, Angel admitted that she could only get this much breast milk.
Even though her breast milk was difficult to come out, Angel is grateful that Caspar is still gaining weight.
And finally, Angel is now happy that her struggle was not in vain and she can produce this much breast milk. Keep fighting, Angel!
