When she recently met her father, Jimmy Effendy, Shandy asked him about his feelings when she decided to embrace Christianity.

"After reaching adolescence, when I was in junior high school, I finally told dad that I chose Christianity as my faith. How did dad feel at that time?" Shandy asked, as quoted from her Youtube channel, (11/9).

1. Response When Shandy Decided to Embrace Christianity

When Shandy decided to follow her mother's belief, Jimmy did not respond. But now he begins to realize something when he understands more about Islam.

"Because at that time, father had not deepened his religion, so father did not answer anything. Only now, father has truly known the religion and it will be father's responsibility in the afterlife," he said.

2. Meeting Many Ustaz

Jimmy even consulted with several religious leaders. He tried to find a solution to the current situation in his family.

"And father asked many questions to several ustaz in Madinah and Makkah, that (the decision to embrace religion) becomes father's responsibility towards you. Because it is said that a man (father) must be responsible in the afterlife as the head of the household. Whatever the actions of his children," he said.

3. Parental Responsibility

"Even if the child is already an adult?" Shandy Aulia interrupted her father's words.

"Yes, even if they are already adults. Except when they convert to another religion after reaching adulthood, then the parents are no longer responsible. But if they are still young, the parents have full responsibility. According to several hadiths and the word of Allah, it is said that it is difficult for a father to enter heaven. The father must advise his child to be interested in Islam, and if they are advised but still refuse, then only Allah knows the reward. We have done our best," she emphasized.
