Being Transgender, Oscar Lawalata Never Thought of Getting Married

In addition to convincing his family, his brother Mario Lawalata, Oscar Lawalata also has to deal with the stigma in Indonesian society. Interestingly, even though he has become a transgender person, Oscar Lawalata has no desire to get married.

He directly conveyed this through his latest YouTube video titled UNTOLD STORY OSCAR LAWALATA - Merdeka Diri!. That's where Oscar expresses his opinion about marriage.

1. Difference between Marriage and Love

"That is a paper for me. Because marriage and love are two different things. Marriage is a paper for me, clear that we are officially together, there is no doubt that you support me financially, provide for me, and so on, clear so that he feels secure. That means, for example, if I am with you, you will provide for me and so on," said Oscar Lawalata.

He continued, "But when it comes to love, does love need to be secured? In my opinion, my level of love is different. For me, if someone truly loves me, I don't need to secure them. Because in the end, for me, I need pure love."

2. Love is Like Sand

Not stopping there, Oscar also expressed his philosophy about love being like sand. "If we hold sand in our hands, we grip it tightly, the sand will be gone. But if we just leave the sand in our hands, the sand will always be there as long as the wind doesn't blow," he joked.

3. Don't Want to Get Married

From all that he explained earlier, Oscar concluded that he doesn't want to get married. "Love first, it can't be bought with material things. I was his first love, but once I fall in love, I won't ask that person to marry me," he said.

Last time, he also emphasized, "No, it won't come out of my mouth (asking for marriage)."
