Betrand Peto's Promise to His Late Grandfather, Ready to Care for Sarwendah and His Siblings Wholeheartedly

In the midst of mourning, Betrand Peto not only reminisces about his grandfather, Hendrik Lo, but also holds firmly to an important testament left for him.

As the first grandson, Onyo feels a great responsibility to care for his family, a message that was once directly conveyed to him by Sarwendah's father.

"And because I am indeed part of the family, I have to say one thing that Yeye said, 'Don't forget about mom, take care of your siblings,'" said Betrand Peto when met at the mourning house Grand Heaven, West Jakarta, on Wednesday (23/7/2025).

"And I said, 'That wasn't asked, but I will definitely take care of it,'" he said. That message has now become his life principle. Onyo firmly states that even without being asked, taking care of his mother and siblings is an absolute obligation for him.

"If it's for my mom, I definitely feel sorry for her, because she has to work, she also has to participate in several tasks that have to be postponed for one reason or another for the Yeye event," Betrand revealed.

Seeing Sarwendah's resilience, Onyo feels very proud. He did not expect that his mother could continue her work amid deep sorrow. For him, that is an extraordinary strength.

"I am very proud of him. I am really proud that he can continue his work in situations like this," said Onyo, recalling his mother who continues to strive to be strong and professional in her work amid this difficult situation.

"My prayer for my mother, I just want the best for her, and I also want to make sure to take care of her before her departure," he said.

As part of the mourning tradition, Onyo also showed his commitment by shaving his head. He even added a small detail as a symbol of his love for his grandfather. "This is one of the traditions, because for the next 3 months we are not allowed to cut our hair again. I drew a love symbol on the back, because it's said that drawing a love symbol is good," he concluded.
