Billy Syahputra Apologizes for Attending Funeral Wearing Shorts, Rushing to the Mourning House While Playing Soccer

Kapanlagi.com - Wearing a black shirt paired with shorts, Billy Syahputra and some of his friends hurriedly walked along the alley in the Cipulir area, Kebayoran Lama, South Jakarta, where the funeral of comedian Sapri's body was laid, on Monday night, May 10, 2021, around 10:00 PM.

Arriving at the mourning house, Billy appeared weak standing and gazing at Sapri's wrapped body. Shortly after, he knelt in front of the body, recited prayers, and paid his final respects to his friend.

"I heard that Bang Sapri passed away while I was playing soccer, I was shocked, that's why I came here immediately with my friends, so I apologize for wearing shorts," said Billy to the media.

Billy said he has known Sapri for a long time. He greatly respects him as a role model.

"He was an amazing comedian, a role model who didn't differentiate between senior and junior. Even though he was my senior, he was really good to me, he had exceptional manners, that's why many people came to pay their respects," he said.

2. Wanted to Visit

Billy further stated that he had the intention to visit Sapri while he was still weak in the hospital. But unfortunately, God had a different plan, Billy met Sapri after he had closed his eyes forever.

"So when I was shooting for sahur, my assistant informed me, 'Boss, Bang Sapri is in critical condition at the hospital, I said okay, find out which hospital, ask his assistant, Doly. So, the plan was to visit today or tomorrow, but suddenly while playing soccer, I received the news of his passing," said Billy.

3. Billy's Prayer

"May Bang Sapri rest in peace, find the best place, and be forgiven for all his sins. I also represent the family, please open the door of forgiveness as wide as possible for Bang Sapri," said Billy.
