Broken Leg Because Crushed by 220 Kg Motorcycle, Hanung Bramantyo Can Already Walk with the Help of 'Iron Man' Shoes

After the incident, Hanung immediately underwent surgery at a hospital in Yogyakarta. He couldn't believe that a few days later, his broken bone had already connected thanks to the help of a pen.

"My leg is gradually healing. I just realized that the advancement of medical technology is amazing nowadays. When I broke my bone, I thought I would have to wear a cast for three months, but apparently not. Within three days, everything was already connected because of a pen," said Hanung when met at Epicentrum XXI, Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (27/12/2023).

After being asked to rest for three days, Hanung Bramantyo immediately resumed directing his new film. Although he had to use crutches for that.

"Three days after the surgery, I was already shooting. I was shooting while using crutches. Then a week later, I was offered to wear shoes, and I initially didn't want to. Eventually, I gave up using crutches and started wearing these shoes," said Hanung while showing the shoes he was wearing.

Hanung Bramantyo mentions that the shoes he wore are Iron Man shoes because of their large size. However, the presence of these shoes helps him in his activities.

"Within two weeks, I can already walk after wearing the shoes that I call Iron Man. When walking, it feels like spraining, but the injured or stitched parts no longer hurt," explained Hanung.

In a different interview, Zaskia Adya Mecca, Hanung Bramantyo's wife, admitted that she was not with her husband at the time of the incident. However, she is grateful that this incident has changed Hanung so that he is no longer reckless.

"I wasn't there when it happened. Alhamdulillah, his leg has improved. From this experience, he learns to be more patient because he usually acts recklessly," said Zaskia when met in the SCBD area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (26/12/2023).
