Kapanlagi.com - The viral pictures of a man and a woman resembling Pablo Putra Benua and Rey Utami hanging out in a cafe on Friday (6/3) raised questions about their status. Pablo and Rey were supposed to still be in detention, but they were allegedly casually hanging out outside.

Regarding this matter, Rehat Hutabarat, Pablo and Rey Utami's lawyer, spoke up. As reported by Insertlive.com, Rehat confirmed that the man and woman hanging out in the Sentul area were indeed Pablo and Rey.

1. Request for Permission to Leave Detention

Rehat stated that his client has requested permission from the South Jakarta District Court to leave detention. Pablo requested permission because his mother is sick and dying.

"What I can possibly explain regarding their ability to be outside. First, because Pablo told me that he requested help because his mother is seriously ill. So he asked for help so that we can submit a request to the South Jakarta Court to grant permission to Pablo and Rey to visit their sick and dying parents," said Rehat on Monday (9/3).

The request was submitted to the South Jakarta District Court during the hearing on Wednesday (4/3). The request was also forwarded to the Metro Jaya Regional Police and was later granted by the Court.

2. Escorted by Officers

After obtaining permission, Pablo and Rey were released from detention and visited their mother. Both of them were escorted by the prosecutor's office and the police on March 6, 2020.

"That request was for permission to go to the Sentul area. The next day, the request was granted, that permission was given according to the request. And it was accompanied by representatives from the Prosecutor's Office and the Police. So it is indeed in accordance with the Criminal Procedure Code (KUHAP)," he explained.
