As a judge on Masterchef for various seasons, there are interesting things behind the scenes that Chef Juna spills.
When asked about Chef Juna's 'habit' of trying the contestants' food and then spitting it out, Chef Juna candidly replied that it indeed tasted bad.
"Is it really not good?" asked Raditya Dika. "Really!" replied Chef Juna without holding back. "Really," he repeated.
This answer made Raditya Dika laugh, not expecting the honest response given by Chef Juna.
"For what it's worth, the majority of their food is NOT GOOD," Chef Juna emphasized.
"I'm sorry, I'm just being honest. We're not saying they can't cook, but maybe they're really not suitable for the competition," he explained while apologizing.
Nevertheless, Chef Juna clarified that actually Masterchef is not a prestigious or professional cooking competition, but rather intended for ordinary people who have a hobby of cooking or want to advance their small and medium enterprises (SMEs). So it's not surprising if their dishes are often not tasty.
