Citra Scholastika Celebrates Christmas with Her Extended Family, Deep Talks and Eating Together Make Her Miss Them

Singer Citra Scholastika celebrates Christmas with her extended family in Pejaten, Pasar Minggu, South Jakarta, on Monday (25/12). Citra always longs for the Christmas moment because it is on this special day that the whole family can gather.

She admitted that she always waits for the evening time during Christmas. This is because during that time, she will meet her cousins and nephews.

"Sometimes I celebrate Christmas with up to 200 people, all of them are my extended family. So from morning until night, there are lots of groups," said Citra Scholastika.

"Usually at night, we have deep talk conversations during Christmas, because Christmas is not just a celebration of the birth of Jesus, but also because it's close to the new year," he continued.

"So the deep talk is about what will happen next year, who will get married, and so on," he said.

In addition to chatting with the extended family, this sixth season Indonesian Idol singer is also looking forward to the family's typical dishes that are always present at every Christmas.

He also revealed that on Christmas day, there are three must-have food menus.

"If I have to choose, I would choose rendang Malbi, tekwan, and kue 9 jam. Because the cake takes 9 hours to make. Kue 9 jam is a type of wet layer cake. Besides that, there is kue matsuba, a cake made with lots of eggs, it has a creamy taste but cooked traditionally," she said.

In addition, Citra Scholastika also explained that her family is of multi-ethnic background. Therefore, they celebrate Christmas, Eid, and Chinese New Year with Javanese and South Sumatran dishes.

"This is how we remember and miss our childhood moments with this food, we still want to enjoy the same taste, luckily my mom, aunt, and uncle are great cooks so it brings back my childhood nostalgia from Christmas to today," she concluded.
