Civil Lawsuit Hearing of Gideon Tengker against Rieta Amilia Postponed, Summons Sent to Wrong Address

Kapanlagi.com - The civil lawsuit brought by Gideon Tengker against his ex-wife Rieta Amilia over joint assets was just held at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (22/6/2023). Today's agenda was to examine the documents and the presence of the defendant.

However, the panel of judges decided to postpone the hearing because the first defendant, Rieta Amalia, did not appear in court due to the summons being sent to the wrong address. The judge stated that Nagita Slavina's mother no longer resides at the address provided by the plaintiff.

"So, the summons sent by post was returned to the court. Please correct the address, and it will be processed again," said the judge of the South Jakarta District Court, in the courtroom, on Thursday (22/6/2023).

Therefore, the panel of judges asked Gideon's legal representative, Erles Rareral, to retrace Rieta Amalia's residential address so that the summons from the South Jakarta District Court could reach the concerned party.

"Because defendant 1 has not received the summons, we cannot proceed. If we can confirm the defendant's address, please attach a certificate, and if they no longer reside there, please do the same," said the South Jakarta District Court judge.

Meanwhile, Erles Rareral himself believes that his party did not make a mistake in listing Rieta Amalia's home address. "To the best of my knowledge, as Gideon's legal representative, until today, Rieta Amalia is still residing at that address," said Erles.

"We will call again in two weeks, with the condition that you also ensure the defendant's address. Please confirm the address again, whether it is correct or has moved. We will postpone for two weeks to correct the address, then we will make the call again," said the judge.

2. Suing for Hundreds of Billions

The lawsuit was filed by Gideon on May 31, 2023 with case number 502/Pdt.G/2023/PN JKT.SEL. In the petitum, Gideon sues for half of the approximately IDR 100 billion assets under the ownership of Rieta Amilia. The assets are considered joint property because they were acquired during their marriage.

Not only did Gideon Tengker sue Rieta, he also sued the Head of the National Land Agency Office of Central Jakarta Administrative City, the Head of the National Land Agency Office of South Jakarta Administrative City, the Head of the National Land Agency Office of Gianyar Regency, and the Head of the National Land Agency Office of Klungkung Regency.
