In response to the criticism, Ashanty explained via Instagram that her presence and that of her team was at the request of the family of the late Benny Laos. She stated, "The family wants the public to witness the atmosphere of Benny Laos's funeral home directly."

Ashanty continued that many people could not see the deceased in person and requested that it be broadcast through their YouTube channel. "Tonight you can watch through Live Streaming on our YouTube at Thehermansyaha6," she wrote.

She also expressed gratitude for the prayers offered for the deceased and hoped that Benny's family, especially his wife, would be granted strength. The atmosphere at the mourning house was filled with emotion, with relatives and visitors coming to pay their last respects.
