Collaborating with UN1TY, Eka Gustiwana: A Valuable Experience

Kapanlagi.com - After 10 months since the release of their single It's Alright, UN1TY finally released their latest single titled Ya Udah which is a collaboration with Eka Gustiwana and Patrick Effendy. This single is also UN1TY's debut with six members, namely Shandy, Gilang, Fenly, Fajri, Zweitson, and Fiki, after Farhan and Ricky officially left. Patrick Effendy as the producer said that UN1TY's latest song sounds fresher.

"This time we are more excited because UN1TY debuts with six members, a new and fresher format. The concept is also a collaboration with people we have never worked with before, like Eka. For me, who has a very old reference, Eka's sound is really fresh and all the UN1TY kids also feel it and work really fast," said Patrick Effendy when met in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta some time ago.

1. Lightning Fast Process

Eka Gustiwana also explained the production process when making this song which was considered very fast, only in one day.

"The UN1TY production process came at 1 pm or 2 pm, there was no idea what song to make. At 7 pm, the song and lyrics were finished. I was also surprised by mas Patrick's way of writing songs, yes indeed we are a fast duo. Regarding music, we all agree that boygroup boyband is definitely K-Pop and we want to erase that image and make truly Indonesian Pop from its sound," said Eka Gustiwana.

2. Valuable Experience

According to Eka Gustiwana, collaborating with Patrick Effendy and UN1TY is one of the valuable experiences. Because throughout his career he has never made music like the song Ya Udah.

"I'm really happy to have followed UN1TY for a long time, I've even met them at an event. I'm just happy to be trusted, I'm happy with Patrick because he can explore potential that may not be thought of by the musicians themselves. Eka with his sound, but Patrick believes. This song is also unique because it seems that throughout my career, I rarely or even never made a song with this kind of color. So it gives valuable experience for me too," he said.

3. Eka Gustiwana, a Perfectionist

Meanwhile, UN1TY is also very happy to have the opportunity to collaborate with Eka Gustiwana who has released many hits. According to Fiki, Eka Gustiwana is a perfectionist but very understanding of what UN1TY members want.

"We know for ourselves that kak Eka Gustiwana from his previous works is really fresh and tends to be electronic upbeat. We certainly also have our expectations, the new formation wants to give something new too. It seems very suitable for kak Eka and it turns out that he is a perfectionist because in such detail, he can capture what we want," concluded Fiki.
