Considered Excessive, Baim Wong's Action of Scolding a Father Asking for Money Will Be Reported to the National Human Rights Commission

Kapanlagi.com - The action of Baim Wong scolding an old man riding a motorcycle who was called a beggar, has received a lot of criticism. Many netizens consider Baim Wong's kindness and generosity to be merely for content purposes.

The incident has caught the attention of the Indonesian Discrimination Anti-Association (PADI). Edi Prastio, as the Chairman, expressed his deep regret over Baim Wong's actions.

"Because in Islamic teachings, 'The hand above is better than the hand below,' and when we intend to give charity, we don't need to choose. The incident proves that Baim Wong is not wise," he said on Monday (11/10/2021).

Edi then asked Baim Wong to apologize to the motorcyclist. If not, Edi will report Baim to the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM).

"In response to the incident, PADI asks Baim to apologize to the man. If unwilling, we will report Baim Wong to the National Commission on Human Rights (Komnas HAM) with allegations of violating Law No. 39 of 1999 Jo Law No. 40 of 2008 on the Elimination of Ethnic and Racial Discrimination," he said.

2. Initial Problem

As is known, the YouTube video content by Baim Paula titled 'Adiknya Kiano, Udah Pengen Cepet Keluar, Mama Pau Langsung ke Rumah Sakit' (Kiano's Brother, Wants to Get Out Quickly, Mom Goes Straight to the Hospital) sparked controversy. In the 9th minute of the video, Baim can be seen scolding a motorcyclist who followed him for help.

Instead of providing assistance to the man, Baim actually gave money to a motorcycle taxi driver while insulting the man who Baim considered to be begging from him.

"This is how you work (while giving money to the motorcycle taxi driver). Don't beg. Following. It's embarrassing to chase after and ask for money," said Baim.
