Couldn't Bear After Meeting a 6-Day-Old Child Only Given Tea and Sugar, Melanie Invites Public Figures to Donate

Kapanlagi.com - Melanie Subono is currently actively highlighting social issues, especially during this pandemic. She invites many people, including her friends from the public figures, to donate in order to help those affected by COVID-19.

Through her Instagram, Melanie expressed her sadness at seeing a 6-day-old baby who couldn't get proper food, such as breast milk or formula, and was only given tea and sugar. 

From there, she took the initiative to make donations to help these people.

"LAST NIGHT I CRIED finding a 6-day-old baby who was only given TEA and SUGAR from the nearby shop because the father was laid off due to COVID, (we took care of him, including the mother's nutrition and paid for his health insurance)," wrote Melanie Subono on her personal Instagram. 

1. Many Requests

Not only that, Melanie also admitted that many people have submitted assistance requests through the foundation she established, namely Rumah Harapan Melanie. 

"The problem is, my point is that during Covid, apart from the child, there are HUNDREDS OF REQUESTS that come in every day to us @rumahharapanmelanie and I NEED YOU TO HANDLE THIS TOGETHER, kas @rumahharapanmelanie is starting to run out because Donors are also having a hard time these days," said the 44-year-old artist. 

2. Because of Malnutrition

Melanie emphasized that she has also helped the baby she met. The issue highlighted by Melanie is that because she is not working, it has a domino effect on the family, especially the baby. 

"Last night we helped the child. The mother's breast milk didn't come out because of malnutrition. Plus, stress because she doesn't work monthly. We help not only the child but also improve the mother's nutrition and provide groceries, etc. For the father and try to pay for his BPJS, this is where we need cash donation assistance," concluded Melanie.
